When I was six years old, my family and I moved to New Zealand for eight months where I thrived. Being highly sensitive and deeply connected to nature, I felt happy and free wandering barefoot across expansive landscapes and through magical forests. Returning to the UK was very difficult and immediately I felt like I didn’t belong there. I struggled to fit back into the school system and was bullied for being different. The weight of this transition coincided with the start of chronic pain and since age seven I have experienced a range of chronic and medically unexplained symptoms. Feeling let down by the healthcare system and unable to find relief, I began a lifelong search to understand myself, my body and my emotions, which led to an interest in holistic wellbeing. I went on to study Psychology at university, specialising in modules that focused on the link between physical and mental health.
