Maya Harvey, Professional Astrologer
My Background
I was born and raised in the city of Bristol, UK. When I was six years old, my family and I moved to New Zealand for eight months where I thrived. Being highly sensitive and deeply connected to nature, I felt happy and free wandering barefoot across expansive landscapes and through magical forests.
Returning to the UK was very difficult and immediately I felt like I didn’t belong there. I struggled to fit back into the school system and was bullied for being different. The weight of this transition coincided with the start of chronic pain and since age seven I have experienced a range of chronic and medically unexplained symptoms. Feeling let down by the healthcare system and unable to find relief, I began a lifelong search to understand myself, my body and my emotions, which led to an interest in holistic wellbeing.
I went on to study Psychology at university, specialising in modules that focused on the link between physical and mental health. During and after my degree I worked for the NHS (National Health Service) alongside Clinical Psychologists and Dietitians, but later realised that pursuing a career in standard healthcare wasn’t for me.
For as long as I can remember I’ve sensed that there was an unseen energetic force connecting everything. But I lost touch with this side of myself as I got older. Then, in the midst of the pandemic, a combination of stress-induced burnout and long-covid catalysed a profound personal transformation and spiritual awakening. Discovering astrology was part of the missing piece that taught me healing without including spiritual wellbeing is incomplete.
Understanding my birth chart allowed me to realise where I was living out of alignment and discover my unrealised potential. I began to remember who I was on a deeper level and trust more in the unfolding of my life. I finally listened to my intuition telling me that I was forcing myself into a life that didn’t fit and followed my long-held dream to travel the world.
For more than two years I lived in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico, teaching English to adults. Travelling has inspired immense healing and spiritual growth. From a cacao ceremony in Guatemala, women’s circles in Costa Rica to ecstatic dance and tarot in Mexico, I have met so many beautiful healers and humans who taught me something unique about myself and what it means to be alive. I began to feel called to become a healer myself. Without much effort, I was guided to study astrology formally. It seemed a perfect way to combine my background in psychology with my interest in holistic wellbeing and spirituality.
Astrology has given me a language to understand myself and feel seen for exactly who I am. When we work with our astrological blueprint instead of against it, life becomes more fulfilling. This has completely transformed my life by giving me permission to embrace my authenticity. Now, I love guiding others back to their hearts through the lens of astrology too.

My Approach to Astrology
My approach is rooted in Evolutionary Astrology and guided by compassion and curiosity.
Evolutionary astrology is based on understanding why our souls came into this life, what we carry from past lives, and how we are being asked to learn and evolve in this lifetime. Understanding life purpose, emotional patterns and karmic lessons are central to this approach. My readings place particular importance on the moon and the north and south nodes.
I use astrology to encourage self-reflection and help you understand your soul’s unique journey. I don’t believe in using astrology to put you in a box or predict fixed outcomes. I see the birth chart as a dynamic map that contains insights into how we can grow and evolve, and we can enter into a conversation with our birth charts to co-create our life experiences.
I also don’t consider particular charts or placements as “good” or “bad”; facing hardship is part of life and can lead to significant healing and transformation. With a background in psychology and teaching, I am skilled at creating a safe space for people to share and feel heard. My energy is warm, grounded and empathetic whilst gently guiding you towards growth.
My intention is to help you integrate the different parts of who you are through awareness and compassion.I always aim to consider your lived experience and to bridge astrological wisdom with reality by helping you consider practical ways to translate insight into your real life.
I believe you already carry the answers you need within you, I am simply there to help you uncover them.

Beyond Astrology
I am a traveler at heart and my dream is to return to New Zealand one day, as well as to continue exploring other countries.
Nature is like oxygen to me and I can’t go too long without a day in the forest connecting to the trees. I feel most spiritually connected when completely immersed in nature.
I enjoy doing energy healing, such as Qi Gong, on a regular basis and would love to train as an energy healer in the future. I also like to use tarot cards as a personal intuitive practice.
In my free time, I love to practise speaking Spanish and go dancing, especially Latin dance such as salsa and bachata.
